Zachary Hayworth, co-founder of the online dating site exclusively for college students, Date My School, says, “We designed the platform that allows students to meet others on their campus and surrounding campuses in a safe, private, anonymous and efficient manner.” Sites such as Date My School allow users to search through potential matches relatively anonymously and only give out personal information, like a phone number, if they feel a connection with someone. The Harvard Crimson reported this year that Date My School claims it is responsible for 50% of dates at both New York University and Columbia. The website’s opening phrase isn’t particularly unique. Various completions of the phrase flashes across the screen in neon pink: words like “study buddy,” “adventure,” “girl friend,” “friend,” “free dinner,” “wife,” “husband,” and of course “eternal love.” Sounds like your typical or E-Harmony slogan, right? The site was founded by Columbia University students Balazs Alexa and Jean Meyer last November. The first prerequisite of a Date My membership is an active university email address, and that’s not something everybody has.

With nothing to lose, Lalinde wrote a funny message proclaiming his love for nurses and hit send. While they could have passed each other walking to class, it took -- an online dating website exclusively for college students -- to bring them together and officially exchange vows on April 29.He opened her profile and saw her name was Michelle Przybyski. One walk of four hours with Lalinde's dog, Domino, around campus and a date at the library (that didn't really involve studying) later, the two Columbia University graduate students applied for a marriage license in New York just 10 days after meeting in person. With countless dating websites such as match.com, and okcupid.com, the online dating market is a bit crowded. For the past 21 years, on the eve of Commencement, NYU has welcomed graduates and their families for an evening of entertainment in celebration of their great accomplishments.“Grad Alley” itself only began in 1996, but NYU has a long history of throwing year-end celebrations.
