I've set my BIOS back to defaults with no overclocks and eliminated all but the essential services and programs from starting doing boot, including disabling my antivirus. I'm at a standstill with both Steam and Activision support, and I haven't been able to find anything with Google, so I'm REALLY hoping someone here might have some ideas.
Steam is generally pretty stable, but every now and then you’ll run into a problem.
Both games crash frequently and both games find files that fail to validate, but they NEVER have all files successfully validate and I've been unable to get either to run without crashing after 10-30 minutes.
I have 4 other games installed on Steam and all of them are able to successfully validate all files.
To fix corrupted game files, you can have Steam validate the game’s cache on your system.
Steam will examine the game’s files and – if any problems are detected – will re-download the corrupted files from Steam’s servers.
Do not run this process for multiple games at the same time.
You will see all backups kept in this location reflected in the next window as confirmation.Modern file systems have plenty of advantages beyond big backups.Archive processing takes about a minute or two per gigabyte depending on the system and the files being compressed.Select “Backup and Restore…” and pick “Backup currently installed programs” from the next dialog. You’ll be presented with a window that lists all of your installed Steam software.
